I JUST WANT TO "COWGIRL"

So you think you want to "COWGIRL"... Some girls dreamed all their lives about being a REAL COWGIRL ….well, a REAL COWGIRL takes some doing, but the 1 st. thing in your life you gotta ask yerself Is: do I really want to be a REAL COWGIRL? I mean the "REAL DEAL" kind of gal...Then if you do, & you do not know where or how to begin, let me give you some help.

There are a lot of people out there, that know a whole lot more about this subject than I do. But I thought I would help some people if I wrote about “BEING cowgirl." Some girls have daddys that were cowboys, I mean Real deal cowboys that work on “working outfits” all thru this great land We call America! That is what they mean by the “Great American Cowboy.” Not all cowgirls had that, some were birthed & others branded on the inside of their heart to be one..

There are hands in Australia, in Canada, South of the border, lots of places. But, only one America. ….so, that is what I want to talk about.

FIND SOMEBODY WHO KNOWS SOMETHING TO HELP YOU!”

Take advantage of good free stuff……Find the best, read articles, watch RFD TV, They have some good shows about ranching... one is the “The Last Cowboy”. Good show about a family run ranch. I would differ with the name as I know a lot of good cowboys, & they got little cowboys coming Up behind them. So, tecnically, there’s more cowboys coming! BUT, it is a good show.

The other show production is ‘Downunder Horsemanship” with Clinton Anderson. This is top of the Line info.not a horse wisperer. Wispering will get you hurt or killed. Read articles from the Western Horseman magazine. We got a neighbor right here in Dickens, Tx. By the name of Bill Smith. Good rep, good hand. They covered him a couple of months back in Western Horsman magazine.

HORSEMANSHIP SCHOOLING

We have a brother In Law out in Congress, Ariz., Twister Heller. Read their articles, It will open up Your heart & mind as to whether this is really something you might be interested In. Twister has some of the best bred horses (according to me) that you can find. He has schools, clinics that will teach you & teach you right.

My Good friend Dude Overton, & her husband Bill, break & trains barrel horses in Bakersfield, Ca. they are both good hands & both come from Ranch country. She is a good hand……done it all her life…if you’re out that way, she can teach how to ride, stay safe, & how to pick a horse.

If N. Ca. is your home look up Brian Neubert, he breaks mustangs for the govt. Heputs on clinics, his little girl, Katie, grew up & put the cowboys to shame at at ranch rodeo loading unbroke colt into A stock trailer! Those young hands could not believe this girl could do it! Well, she learned from The best daddy in the world.

If you want to break horses & really learn something, ya might might give Destry Campbell a ring in Aulturis, Ca. A cowboy all his life, a good friend over the yrs. & a good preacher on top of all that..his wife Shirely is a blast..we grew up together at Certain times of our lives They are the real deal.

Read articles, watch or buy videos, watch & learn it will help you a lot….because The 1 st. thing ya gotta do to become a cowgirl is learn to ride WITH somebody who Will teach you & keep you safe. Stop by a feed store, or a saddlemaker, they will Know everybody in their part of the country.

RIDE & LEARN TO RIDE WELL

The 1 st. thing to do is learn to ride , & learn to ride well. .....working with cattle will teach you alot. Find somebody that can help you with that kind of thing.

Also, you bet you need to be the type that doesn't mind the sweat, long hours, frustration, perhaps some tears, but gumption to pay the price.... you better not be "work brittle"... it takes time, endurance & sacrafice...it's hard work but this western lifestyle's sure worth it!!!!

What is "bein cowgirl?" Is Cowgirl,Cowboy the same thing? Is it cow girl or "cowgirl"...Well, now you know what we kind of think about all of that...we believe in "CowboywifeThangs" knowing how to dress cowchicks, cowgirls & just plain lady folks who love the lifestyle!!!!
